Winthrop was outstanding on both ends of the court against Charleston Southern and was able to pull away later after taking a 59-53 lead with 2:56 left in regulation. Winthrop shot 54.5% from the field & 42.9% from beyond the arc while holding Charleston Southern to just 32.4% from the field & 28.1% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Eagles was Patrick Good who had 16 points & 8 rebounds.

On the season, Winthrop is averaging 77.5 ppg on 48.3% shooting from the field. The Eagles are averaging 9.1 three-pointers per game on 37.4% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Winthrop has been led by D.J. Burns Jr. (16.3 ppg, 4.4 rpg), Patrick Good (11.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.2 spg), Cory Hightower (10.7 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.0 spg), & Michael Anumba (7.6 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.4 apg).

Defensively, Winthrop is allowing their opponents to average 72.9 ppg on 43.8% shooting from the field. The Eagles have a rebound margin of 2.9 and a turnover margin of -0.2.

The Presbyterian Blue Hose lost their 3rd straight game and dropped to 8-10 on the season after being defeated by Gardner-Webb Bulldogs, 64-61, this past Wednesday. Presbyterian led by the 32-26 margin at halftime, however, the defense struggled in 2nd half and the Blue Hose could not fight back after Gardner-Webb took a 59-53 lead with 2:41 left in regulation. Presbyterian shot 38.6% from the field & 28.6% from beyond the arc while allowing Gardner-Webb to shoot 44.4% from the field 7 31.6% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Blue Hose was Rayshon Harrison who had 21 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, & 4 steals.

On the season, Presbyterian is averaging 67.3 ppg on 41.4% shooting from the field. The Blue Hose are averaging 5.9 three-pointers per game on 26.6% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Presbyterian has been led by Rayshon Harrison (17.2 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.9 apg), Winston Hill (11.3 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.4 apg), Trevon Reddish-Rhone (8.8 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.8 apg), & Brandon Younger (7.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 2.8 apg).

Defensively, Presbyterian is allowing their opponents to average 67.3 ppg on 45.1% shooting from the field. The Blue Hose have a rebound margin of 4.2 and a turnover margin of 1.8.

The Eagles are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Wednesday games. The Blue Hose are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.

Winthrop has been led by their offense which ranks 56th in scoring offense, 22nd in FG%, & 37th in 3P-FG%, however, has struggled defensively and currently ranks just t-277th in scoring defense & 241st in defensive FG%. Presbyterian has been led by their defense which ranks 141st in scoring defense & 67th in steals per game, however, the Blue Hose have struggled putting up points and come into this one ranked just 278th in scoring offense, 297th in FG%, & 344th in 3P-FG%.

Presbyterian is 5-2 at home this season, however, three of those wins have come from non-D1 opponents and the Blue Hose have lost their last two home games to Wofford & USC Update by double-digits. Winthrop hasn’t been strong on the road this season, however, as I just don’t see the Presbyterian offense being able to keep up with the Eagles, I think Winthrop does enough to cover this small road spread. Good Luck!
