Princeton Tigers Betting Preview

The Princeton Tigers are 14-5 (3-1) this season after they lost to Cornell by a score of 85-76 in their last game. Princeton led 37-36 at halftime but allowed 49 points in the second half in the loss. The Tigers shot 36.8% from the field, 44% on three-pointers, and 71.4% on free throws in the game. Caden Pierce led Princeton with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Blake Peters added 20 points and four rebounds in the loss.

Prior to that game, the Tigers defeated Columbia by a score of 71-67 and Dartmouth by a score of 81-80. Princeton has won seven of their last eight games and they are currently tied for second in the Ivy League standings. Princeton has scored 77.1 points per game and they have allowed 72.4 points per game, while also averaging 35.0 rebounds and 15.4 assists per game this season. Xaivian Lee is averaging 17.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game, while Caden Pierce is averaging 12.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game this year. Princeton is shooting 45% from the field, 68.6% on free throws, and 37.8% on three-pointers this season.

Yale Bulldogs Betting Preview

The Yale Bulldogs are 11-6 (4-0) this year after they defeated Harvard by a score of 84-55 in their last game. Yale led 45-26 at halftime and they added 39 points in the second half in the blowout win. The Bulldogs shot 42.9% from the field, 40% on three-pointers, and 75.9% on free throws in the game. Nick Townsend led Yale with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while John Poulakidas added 15 points and six rebounds in the win.

Total Points Facts

  • Each of Yale’s last six Friday games against Conference opponents have produced a total of 138 or fewer points.
  • Four of Princeton’s last five day games against non-AP-ranked opponents at Jadwin Gymnasium have produced a total of 151+ points.

Princeton vs Yale Prediction

These two teams come into this matchup at the top of the Ivy League standings, so this is a huge game for both sides. Princeton did lose their last home game against Cornell and they are shooting just 45% from the field this year. The Tigers have also had some defensive issues, as they are allowing 72.4 points per game. Yale comes into this contest undefeated in conference play, but they did have a close call in their last road game, where they nearly lost to Columbia. Yale has been the better team when looking at the metrics, as they are scoring over 82 points per game this season, but I don’t love them on the road. The Bulldogs are just 1-2 in their last three road games and I think Princeton has a great chance at getting the win. Take the points with the Tigers here.
