Queens vs Central Arkansas 1/12/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Central Arkansas Bears and the Queens NC Royals meet Thursday in college basketball action from Levine Center Curry Arena. Central Arkansas is 5-12 on the year so far. The Bears lost to Austin Peay in their last game. As for Queens NC, they’re 12-5 after a loss to Kennesaw State on Saturday. Central Arkansas was 5-4 through nine games this year, losing to Wichita State, Niagara, Northwestern State and Loyola IL. The Bears have since lost to Oral Roberts, Oklahoma, Little Rock, TCU, Kennesaw State, FGCU, Eastern Kentucky and Austin Peay. 

In the Austin Peay matchup on Saturday, the Bears were down 41-29 going into the second half. Central Arkansas was outscored 45-33 from there and lost 86-62. Both Eddy Kayouloud and Camren Hunter scored 13 points apiece. 

Over on the Queens NC side, they were 8-2 after 10 games with losses to only La Salle and George Mason. The Royals are 4-3 in their last seven, losing to Nebraska, Eastern Kentucky and Kennesaw State along the way. 

On Saturday versus Kennesaw State, the Royals took a 31-23 deficit into the second half. Queens NC didn’t end up getting any closer on a 45-44 run and fell 76-67. AJ McKee was tops on 17 points with eight rebounds. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with Queens NC. The Royals were outpaced by a pretty good Kennesaw State team in their last outing but they’ve been playing pretty well lately otherwise. Queens NC has scored 75 or more points in four of the last five outings and shouldn’t have too much trouble posting a decent number against Central Arkansas. Speaking of the Bears, they haven’t scored terribly lately—66 or more in nine of their last 11 games. Central Arkansas does give up a lot of points on the other side however; I don’t think they’ll keep a cover pace here.
