Quinnipiac vs Stephen F. Austin 11/25/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks and the Quinnipiac Bobcats meet Friday in college basketball action from Place Bell. The Lumberjacks are 3-1 overall this year and coming off a win over South Dakota State. As for Quinnipiac, they’re sitting at 5-0 overall. The Bobcats beat Albertus in their last outing. Stephen F. Austin got a couple of wins in the bag during their first two games, taking out LeTourneau 93-40 and Gardner-Webb 86-71. The Lumberjacks lost to Alcorn State last Tuesday to fall to 2-1 on the year. 

The Lumberjacks got back into the win column back on Saturday versus South Dakota State. Stephen F. Austin posted a 44-41 edge in the first half and ended up with a 93-82 win. Nigel Hawkins led the team on 25 points with six rebounds. 

Over on the Quinnipiac side, they kicked off the year with a win over Rhode Island 67-62 and a win over Stonehill 102-95. Two more wins followed in the next pair for the Bobcats: 72-70 over Central CT State and 81-72 against Dartmouth. 

In last Friday’s game versus Albertus, Quinnipiac kept their win streak going. The Bobcats scored 47 points in the first half and 39 more after the break for an 86-68 win. Tops in scoring was Matt Balanc with 22 points and two boards. 

PICK: I’ll probably lean Quinnipiac in this one but I’m also probably not going near it. The Bobcats are off to a great start at 5-0 so far, but they’ve also had a couple of close calls along the way. Quinnipiac didn’t have any trouble in their last game though, shooting 48.4 percent from the field with 21 assists in the win over Albertus. 

As for Stephen F. Austin, they’ve scored 86 or more points in three of their four games this year. The Lumberjacks could cause some trouble for the Bobcats if they get off to a good start here.
