The Davidson Wildcats will travel to the Ryan Center to take on the Rhode Island Rams this Saturday afternoon in College Basketball action.

Davidson allowed Saint Joseph’s to fight back from a 38-31 halftime deficit to force OT, however, the Wildcats were strong on the offensive end in the extra period and held off the Hawks for the victory after taking a 69-65 lead with 1:18 left in regulation. Davidson shot 42.9% from the field & 8.7% from beyond the arc while allowing Saint Joseph’s to shoot 38.1% from the field & 27.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Wildcats was Foster Loyer who had 21 points, 7 rebounds, & 2 assists.

Rhode Island shot 40.4% from the field & 42.9% from beyond the arc while allowing VCU to shoot 49.1% from the field & 37.5% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Rams was Makhel Mitchell who had a double-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds, 2 blocks, & 1 steal.

Rhode Island has really struggled in conference play as of late, however, the Rams are still a very good defensive team as they come into this game ranked 39^th in scoring defense & 13^th in defensive FG%. Davidson is the better team, however, Rhode Island is 8-3 at home this season and as I expect this to be a competitive game, I think the play here is to take the home team and the points. Good luck!
