The Fairfield Stags and the Rider Broncs meet in college basketball action from the Alumni Gymnasium on Friday night.

The Fairfield Stags will look to build on their 69-66 win over Marist last time out. Taj Benning leads the Stags in scoring with 11.3 PPG along with 4.9 RPG and Jake Wojcik also has 11.3 PPG with 3.5 RPG while Supreme Cook has 10.2 PPG with a team-high 8.1 RPG this season, rounding out the group of double-digit scorers for Fairfield so far this season. Caleb Green also has 7.9 PPG and a team-high 2.9 APG as well this season. As a team, Fairfield is averaging 70.9 PPG on 45% shooting from the field, 34.4% from three and 71% from the foul line while allowing 66.7 PPG on 42.9% shooting from the field and 31.8% from three this season.

The Rider Broncs will try to build on their 70-67 win over Niagara last time out. Dwight Murray Jr. leads the Broncs in scoring with 12.8 PPG along with 6.2 RPG and also in assists with 4.2 APG while Dimencio Vaughn has 12.6 PPG with a team-high 7.5 RPG this season, leading Rider on the glass. Mervin James also has 10.4 PPG with 5 RPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Rider while Allen Powell has 9.4 PPG as well this year. As a team, Rider is averaging 66.7 PPG on 39.1% shooting from the field, 31% from three and 74.6% from the foul line while allowing 71 PPG on 41.6% shooting from the field and 33.7% from three this season.

Fairfield is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a win while the over is 5-1 in their last 6 road games against a team with a losing home record. Rider is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games following three or more consecutive road games while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games overall.

I get the case to be made either way here, but Fairfield’s been rock solid up to this point in the season when it comes to ATS numbers on the road while Rider hasn’t been overly convincing at home this season. Not a game I’m rushing to the window to bet, but I do think Fairfield gets the win here.
