Rider beat Immaculata in their opener, then fell to Marquette, Nebraska, Duquesne, Stony Brook, Maryland, Siena and Fairfield in the next seven outings. Mervin James had a strong game against Delaware, putting up 25 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Rider on the season is averaging 71.6 points while their defense is giving up 75.8 points per game. Mervin James is having a strong season averaging 19.1 points while shooting 52.7 percent from the field.
