The Oakland Golden Grizzlies and the Robert Morris Colonials meet Monday in Horizon League college basketball action from Indiana Farmers Coliseum. Here’s a Robert Morris vs Oakland prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Robert Morris vs Oakland pick.
Oakland Golden Grizzlies Betting Preview
The Golden Grizzlies weren’t looking so good in the record column back in early January. To their credit however, Oakland has played much better since then. The Grizzlies opened up on a rough 5-12 stretch though, taking wins over only Defiance, Toledo, Wright State, Loyola Chicago and Milwaukee during that time. After wins over Northern Kentucky, IUPUI, Detroit and Fort Wayne in the next four, Oakland hit a 4-5 run with wins over Green Bay, IUPUI, Detroit and Cleveland State. The losses otherwise were versus Robert Morris, Northern Kentucky, Youngstown State, Fort Wayne and Milwaukee. Since then it’s been three straight wins over Green Bay (twice) and Milwaukee. That gives the Golden Grizzlies a 16-17 overall record across 33 games this year so far.
In the Milwaukee road matchup on Thursday, the Grizzlies entered the second half looking up at a 39-31 edge on the scoreboard. Oakland maintained form from there with a 33-33 second half during a 72-64 win. Tops in scoring was Allen Mukeba with 21 points, seven rebounds and one assist. Tuburu Naivalurua was close behind with 20 points, six boards and two assists, while Jaylen Jones led the bench scoring with his 10 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals in 32 minutes of work on the floor.
Robert Morris Colonials Betting Preview
Over on the Robert Morris side, they had a bit of a bumpy run back in December and January but otherwise it’s been a very nice season overall. The Colonials posted a spotty 6-5 run over their first 11 games, then took out Towson, St. Francis PA and Northern Kentucky. The next trio was a 1-2 stretch with a win over Oakland in between losses to Detroit and Cleveland State. Robert Morris has lost just one game versus Wright State since then. Otherwise it’s been victories over Wright State, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Youngstown State, Oakland, IUPUI, Detroit, Northern Kentucky, Cleveland State, Fort Wayne, Green Bay, Milwaukee, IUPUI and Wright State in succession. In total that gives the Colonials a 24-8 record across 32 outings so far.
In their Thursday game versus Wright State, Robert Morris kicked things off with a 41-31 edge. The second half was a 42-31 advantage for the Colonials, adding up to an 83-62 blowout victory in the end. Kam Woods led the team on 19 points with four assists, three rebounds and two steals. DJ Smith had 14 points with seven assists, and Josh Omojafo had 13 points with four boards. Alvaro Folgueiras doubled up on 12 points with 10 rebounds as well.

Robert Morris vs Oakland Prediction
I’ll take a stab on Oakland here. The Grizzlies are playing pretty well over their last four games, including their win over Milwaukee back on Thursday. Oakland shot a nice 51.9 percent from the field in that one with a 31-22 rebounding edge and a perfect 9-of-9 from the line. The Grizzlies did give up 51.9 percent shooting on the other side and had 13 turnovers for 16 Panthers points, though. Still, that gives Oakland a 6-2 run in their last eight with 82 or more points in five of the six victories.
Oakland lost both matchups with Rob Morris this year though, falling 79-71 at home and 73-71 on the road. Considering the Colonials are sitting on eight straight wins themselves with 71 or more points scored in seven of those, they’ll be a tough team to topple. With Oakland coming off the big win over Milwaukee though, I think they’ve got a decent chance here if they can keep the mistakes down and the shooting percentage up.
