The Bryant Bulldogs will travel to the William H. Pitt Center to take on the Sacred Heart Pioneers this Thursday night in College Basketball action.

The Bryant Bulldogs won their 8th straight game and improved to 14-8 on the season after defeating the Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers, 62-61, this past Saturday. Bryant trailed by a 36-31 margin at halftime, however, the Bulldogs were able to fight back into the game with a strong defensive effort in the 2nd half and was able to take the lead for good after a Charles Pride layup with 2:03 left in regulation gave the Bulldogs a 62-59 lead. Bryant shot 40.0% from the field & 30.4% from beyond the arc while holding Mount St. Mary’s to just 37.3% shooting from the field & 12.5% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Charles Pride who had a double-double with 32 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals, & 1 steal.

On the season, Bryant is averaging 76.0 ppg on 42.9% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs are averaging 8.5 three-pointers per game on 30.0% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Bryant has been led by Peter Kiss (22.8 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.5 apg, 1.6 spg), Charles Pride (17.5 ppg, 8.1 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.6 spg), Adham Eleeda (10.6 ppg, 4.6 rpg), & Luis Hurtado (3.4 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 3.8 apg).

Defensively, Bryant is allowing their opponents to average 73.0 ppg on 41.3% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs have a rebound margin of 1.6 and a turnover margin of -2.0.

The Sacred Heart Pioneers snapped a 4-game losing streak and improved to 8-14 on the season after defeating the St. Francis (BKN) Terriers, 66-62 (OT), this past Saturday. Sacred Heart fought back from a 53-44 deficit with 6:47 left in regulation to force OT and was able to pull away in the extra period after taking a 62-57 lead with 1:35 left in OT. Sacred Heart shot 38.5% from the field & 18.8% form beyond the arc while allowing St. Francis (BKN) to shoot 37.5% from the field & 23.8% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Pioneers was Nico Galette who had a double-double with 12 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 block, & 2 steals.

On the season, Sacred Heart is averaging 71.7 ppg on 43.8% shooting from the field. The Pioneers are averaging 8.4 three-pointers per game on 34.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Sacred Heart has been led by Tyler Thomas (17.6 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.3 spg), Aaron Clarke (15.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 4.2 apg), Nico Galette (11.1 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.0 spg), & Alex Watson (8.5 ppg, 2.9 rpg, 1.4 apg).

Defensively, Sacred Heart is allowing their opponents to average 74.2 ppg on 45.6% shooting from the field. The Pioneers have a rebound margin of 1.2 and a turnover margin of -2.5.

The Bulldogs are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up win & 11-9-1 ATS on the season. The Pioneers are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games & 1-5 ATS in their last 6 Thursday games.

Sacred Heart was competitive earlier in the season against Bryant on the road in an 85-82 loss, however, despite their win at St. Francis (BKN), I haven’t been that impressed what I’ve seen from the Pioneers as of late as during their recent 4-game losing streak, Sacred Heart allowed their opponents to average 83.3 ppg. Bryant has been outstanding as of late and will be getting Peter Kiss back from suspension and as I think their offense will be too much for Sacred Heart, I’m taking Bryant to cover this mid-range road spread. Good Luck!
