The Fairleigh Dickinson Knights and the Sacred Heart Pioneers meet Friday in college basketball action from William H. Pitt Center.
Fairleigh Dickinson enters this matchup at 9-14 overall. As for Sacred Heart, they’re sitting at 8-8 this season. This will be a rematch of Thursday’s game featuring these teams. In that one, the Knights bagged a 13-point victory. Check back all season long for free college basketball picks at Sports Chat Place.
Fairleigh Dickinson started off the year on a pretty shaky 2-8 run, but then managed wins in five of their next six games. After that was a 1-5 stretch for the Knights, however. They lost to Wagner, St. Francis Brooklyn and Mount St. Mary’s during that time.
In Thursday’s matchup against the Pioneers, Fairleigh Dickinson jumped out to a 42-36 lead at the break and went on to a nice 82-69 victory. Topping the Knights in scoring was Jahlil Jenkins with 19 points and a steal.
Over on the Sacred Heart side, they’ve had trouble sustaining win streaks this year and have hovered around .500 for most of it. The Pioneers were 2-2 in the four games prior to the Thursday matchup, taking wins over Central CT State and St. Francis BKN in that stretch.
In Thursday’s game, the Pioneers couldn’t bridge the six-point halftime gap and fell behind even further in the second. Leading the way for Sacred Heart in scoring was Tyler Thomas with 22 points, two rebounds and two assists.
The Pioneers are 5-2 ATS in their last seven Friday games and 7-1 ATS in their last eight as a favorite. The over is 4-0 in Sacred Heart’s last four overall and the under is 12-4 in their last 16 as a favorite.
Meanwhile, the Knights are 1-5 ATS in their last six overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five as an underdog. Fairleigh Dickinson is 1-4 ATS in their last five as a favorite and the over is 7-2 in their last nine Friday games.
PICK: I like Sacred Heart in this one. The Pioneers had a pretty good scoring run going as they headed into the Thursday game, notching 76 or more in three straight games. Thursday’s outing was a decent offensive effort for the Pioneers, but I think they’ll get it together in the rematch.
