The Wagner Seahawks will play the Sacred Heart Pioneers in the Quarterfinals of the Northeast Conference Tournament on Wednesday night at the William H. Pitt Center in Fairfield, Connecticut. Let’s take a look at the Wagner preview, Sacred Heart preview, betting matchup, and the Wagner vs Sacred Heart prediction.

Wagner Preview

The Wagner Seahawks are 13-15 (7-9) this season after they lost to FDU by a score of 57-54 in their last game. Wagner trailed 31-26 at halftime, but did win the second half by a total of 28-26 in the narrow loss. The Seahawks shot 37.3% from the field and were +15 in rebounding margin in the game. Wagner lost to LeMoyne by a score of 70-56 in the game prior to FDU, but did beat LIU before that. The Seahawks are scoring 63.9 points per game with 35.8 rebounds per game and 13.1 assists per game, while giving up 63 points against per game this year. Melvin Council Jr. is averaging 15.3 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game, and 3.6 assists per game. Wagner is shooting 38.9% from the field, 72% on free throws, and 32.6% on three pointers this season.

Sacred Heart Preview

The Sacred Heart Pioneers are 16-15 (10-6) this year after they defeated Merrimack by a score of 89-85 in their last game. Sacred Heart trailed 42-41 at halftime, but out scored Merrimack 48-43 in the second half for the win. The Pioneers shot 54.1% from the field and were +9 in rebounding margin in the game. Sacred Heart defeated Stonehill by a score of 79-51 in the game prior to Merrimack, but lost to Central Connecticut before that. The Pioneers are scoring 74.7 points per game with 33.2 rebounds per game and 13.8 assists per game, while allowing 72.7 points against per game this season. Nico Galette is averaging 13.7 points per game, 7.2 rebounds per game, and 2.0 assists per game. Sacred Heart is shooting 45.6% from the field, 69.6% on free throws, and 36.6% on three pointers this year.

Wagner vs Sacred Heart Betting Prediction

Sacred Heart comes into this matchup with a 10-6 conference record and they finished third in the regular season standings. The Pioneers have won four of their last five games and they are the much better offensive team in this matchup. Wagner has lost four of their last five games and they are only shooting 38.9% from the field this season. Sacred Heart won the first two meetings by scores of 66-61 and 63-53, but it is not easy to beat a team three times. We know Wagner is going to struggle to score and I think we are in for a lower scoring game. Take the under here.
