Saint Joseph’s vs Albany 11/17/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Albany Great Danes and the Saint Joseph’s Hawks meet Thursday in college basketball action from Hagan Arena. Albany is 2-2 so far this season. The Danes beat Union NY in their last game. Albany opened up the year with a tight matchup versus Towson. The Great Danes fell 67-62 in that one. After a 74-47 win over Immaculata, Albany faced Siena in game three but ended up losing again 75-62. 

Back on Monday versus Union NY, the Great Danes were down 30-29 by halftime. Albany posted a 58-45 advantage in the second for an 87-75 win. Tops in scoring was Gerald Drumgoole with 26 points, and Jonathan Beagle doubled on 17 points and 13 boards. 

Over on the St. Joseph’s side, their year began with a tough matchup versus Houston. The Hawks were down 46-26 by halftime and ended up losing 81-55 after a 35-29 second half. J’wan Roberts doubled with 19 points and 12 rebounds, and Jarace Walker had 23 points. 

St. Joseph’s had an easier time with Lafayette in their second outing of the year. The Hawks got off to a 36-26 lead at the break but had to scramble for the 63-59 win. Cameron Brown doubled up on 20 points and 21 boards, while Erik Reynolds had 21 points. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Albany. Probably not going near it, but this should be a fairly decent matchup. The Great Danes have two double-digit wins under their belts this year. Albany hasn’t beaten anyone comparable just yet, though. St. Joseph’s had some trouble in the second half with a winless Lafayette team, so if Albany can keep the rhythm up after halftime I think they can cover in this one.
