Samford vs UNC Greensboro Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/15/23

UNC Greensboro Spartans

UNC Greensboro managed to go 12-8 over their first 20 games this year. The Spartans have been on a nice 6-1 run since then, beating Mercer, VMI, Mercer again, the Citadel, East Tennessee State and Wofford in that time. 

In the Wofford game on Sunday, the Spartans scored 36 points in the first half, 45 in the second and 16 in overtime to power out a 97-89 win. Keyshaun Langley put up 27 points to lead the team, and Mohammed Abdulsalam doubled on 19 points and 14 rebounds. 

Samford Bulldogs 

Over on the Samford side, they managed to go 13-7 over their first 20 games this year. The Bulldogs are on a 5-2 stretch over their last seven, featuring wins over Wester Carolina (twice), East Tennessee State, Mercer and the Citadel. 

Matched up against the Citadel on Saturday, the Bulldogs were up 32-27 by halftime. Samford scored another 44 points in the second half and powered out a 76-70 win. Jermaine Marshall was the top team scorer on 23 points and seven boards. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK 

I’m leaning toward Samford. This is a tough one, though; I could probably go either way, as it’ll be a good matchup. The Bulldogs are on a nice four-game win streak right now and they’re scoring well. Samford has hit 69 or more points in 14 straight outings. These teams have met once before this year: a 70-68 Samford victory back on January 7 from Greensboro Coliseum. The Spartans are rolling right along on a four-game win streak themselves (with 69 or more points in each outing), so they should be right in step for this one. It’ll be a great game.
