In this article, we will formulate a San Diego State vs Houston prediction for this College Basketball game on Saturday, November 30th at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this College Basketball matchup.

Houston Cougars Betting Preview

The Houston Cougars are 4-2 this year after they defeated Notre Dame by a score of 65-54 in their last game. Houston led 39-31 at the half and held ND to just 23 points in the second half in the win. The Cougars shot 45% from the field, 26.1% on three-pointers, and 55.6% on free throws in the game. Emanuel Sharp led Houston with 17 points and four assists in the game.

Prior to that win, the Cougars lost to Alabama by a score of 85-80 but did beat Hofstra and Louisiana before that. Houston has scored 80.3 points per game and they have allowed 57 points per game, while also averaging 38 rebounds and 14.3 assists per game this season. LJ Cryer is averaging 13.5 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, while Houston is shooting 45.8% from the field, 72.8% on free throws, and 41.8% on three-pointers this year.

San Diego State Aztecs Betting Preview

The San Diego State Aztecs are 3-2 this season after they lost to Oregon by a score of 78-68 in their last game. San Diego State trailed 41-31 at the half, but they did score 37 points in the second half in the loss. The Aztecs shot 50.9% from the field, 31.6% on three-pointers, and 50% on free throws in the game. BJ Davis led SDSU with 18 points and three assists in the game.

Prior to that loss, the Aztecs defeated Creighton by a score of 71-53 but did lose to Gonzaga by a score of 80-67 before that. San Diego State has scored 73.8 points per game and they have allowed 63.6 points per game, while also averaging 35.6 rebounds and 14.8 assists per game this season. BJ Davis is averaging 15.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game, while San Diego State is shooting 46.1% from the field, 63.9% on free throws, and 39% on three-pointers this year.

Why Houston will beat San Diego State

  • Houston has won each of its last 16 games against non-AP-ranked opponents.
  • San Diego State has lost each of its last four games against the Big 12 Conference.
  • Houston has won the first half in 21 of its last 22 games against non-conference opponents.

San Diego State vs Houston Prediction

Houston comes into this game ranked #6 in the country and even though they have two losses on the year, those came against Alabama in overtime and Auburn. San Diego State has lost two of their last three games against Oregon and Gonzaga, but they do have a win against Creighton. These two teams are very similar offensively, but Houston has a pretty wide edge on defense. I think the Aztecs will hang around in this game for the first 30 minutes, but I like Houston to pull away and cover late.
