Seattle vs Tarleton State Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/19/23

The Tarleton State Texans and the Seattle Redhawks meet Thursday in college basketball action from Connolly Center. Tarleton State is currently 10-8 overall. The Texans beat Abilene Christian in their last game. As for Seattle, they’re 14-4 on the season after a win over Utah Valley last weekend. Tarleton State Texans 

Tarleton State was 7-7 in their first 14 games, losing to Arizona State, Drake, Wichita State, Baylor, UCF, Air Force and Abilene Christian. The Texans have since gone 3-1 with wins over Southern Utah, Chicago State and Abilene Christian. 

In the rematch versus Abilene Christian on Saturday, the Texans took a 28-27 edge into the second half. Tarleton State posted a 44-36 run from there and won it 72-63. Both Lue Williams and Jakorie Smith led the team on 15 points each.

Seattle Redhawks 

Over on the Seattle side, they lost four of their first 14 games versus Washington, Oregon State, Utah State and Iona. The Redhawks are 4-0 in their last four, beating UTRGV, TX-Arlington, New Mexico State and Utah Valley. 

In the Utah Valley game, the Redhawks were down by two points going into halftime. Seattle hit a 43-36 run in the second for the comeback win 85-80. Cameron Tyson posted 20 points to lead the way, and Riley Grigsby had 19 points. 

ANDREW’S FREE PICK

I’m going to stick with Seattle. This should be a pretty solid matchup, though. The Redhawks are currently riding a six-game win streak, posting 69 or more points in five of those games (66 in the outlier). Seattle’s offense has been working pretty well lately and they should manage a decent total in this one. As for Tarleton State, they’ve hit 67 or more points in seven of their last eight games. If the Texans play to their capabilities we should have a high-scoring matchup on both sides here. Ultimately I like Seattle on the cover a little better, though.
