Seton Hall vs Georgetown Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 2/14/23

The Georgetown Hoyas and the Seton Hall Pirates meet Tuesday in college basketball action from Prudential Center. Georgetown enters this one at 6-20 overall. The Hoyas lost to Marquette in their last game. As for Seton Hall, they’re 15-11 on the season following a loss to Villanova. Georgetown Hoyas 

The Hoyas have had a rough year so far, and they opened up the year at 5-13 after 18 games. Georgetown is just 1-7 in their last eight with losses to Villanova, Xavier, St. John’s, Creighton, UConn, Providence and Marquette. 

In the Marquette game on Saturday, the Hoyas were outscored 45-33 in the first half. Georgetown hit a 44-42 deficit from there and lost 89-75. Leading scorer Jay Heath put up 18 points with four rebounds in the defeat. 

Seton Hall Pirates

Over on the Pirates’ side, they managed to go 10-8 over their first 18 games this year. The Pirates are 5-3 since then, beating DePaul, UConn, Butler, St. John’s and DePaul again during that stretch of games. 

In their matchup versus Villanova on Saturday, the Pirates took a 27-20 deficit into the break. Seton Hall got better in the second half with 34 points but ended up losing 58-54. Tyrese Samuel managed to double up with 14 points and 10 rebounds, though.

I’m probably going to stay with Seton Hall. The Pirates are struggling over the last couple of games and they could use a solid performance here. Seton Hall has only scored 116 combined points in those games, so getting the offense going early should be a priority. The last time these teams met up back on January 10, Seton Hall posted a 66-51 win thanks to a 39-24 second half. This one will probably be similar: fairly close most of the way before the Pirates power out the cover.
