The Yale Bulldogs and the Seton Hall Pirates meet Sunday in college basketball action from Prudential Center. Yale is 2-0 so far this year. The Bulldogs have taken out Vassar and UMass in their first pair. As for Seton Hall, they’ve got one game in the books so far: a blowout win over Fairleigh Dickinson. Yale had no issues with Vassar in their first matchup of the year, riding a 47-21 halftime advantage toward an 88-42 win. Azar Swain was the team’s top score with 16 points, three rebounds and two assists, while four other Yale players were in double-figures.
Game two was another quality outing for Yale. The Bulldogs posted 43 points in the first and 48 more in the second on the way to a 91-71 win over UMass. Matthue Cotton topped the team with 23 points, seven rebounds and two assists in that one.
Over on the Seton Hall side, they’re coming off a 14-13 record last year, going 10-9 in Big East play. The Pirates finished in fifth place in the standings and beat St. John’s in the conference tournament before a 66-58 loss to Georgetown.
Seton Hall matched up with Fairleigh Dickinson in their first outing of the season. The Pirates held the Knights to just 20 first-half points and controlled the game the whole way during a 93-49 win. Tyrese Samuel posted a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds to lead the team.

PICK: I’m going to go Yale. The Bulldogs have put up a couple of solid wins so far this year, and this matchup will be a good test to see where the team stands. Yale has been getting nice all-around production from the lineup over their first pair; 10 different players had at least one rebound in their last game.
As for Seton Hall, they held Fairleigh Dickinson to just 28.1 percent from the field and 6.7 percent (1-of-15) from 3-point range during their blowout win. The Pirates shot 13-of-24 from outside and hauled in 47 rebounds in a dominant effort. Yale likely won’t go down so easily though, so I think they can get in on a cover.
