Saint Peter’s Peacocks
The Peacocks stumbled to a 3-5 run in their first eight games this year, but they’ve played much better since then. Saint Peter’s has taken out UMBC, Kean, Bucknell, Iona, Mount St. Marys, Manhattan and Canisius (with losses to Fairfield and Rider) in their last nine games.
In the Rider matchup on Thursday, the Peacocks faced a 10-point deficit going into the second half. Saint Peter’s got better from there on a 37-32 run but still lost 62-57. Leading the team in scoring was Latrell Reid with his 17 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Siena Saints
Over on the Siena side, they haven’t had much luck this year. The Saints were only able to topple Holy Cross, Rider and Niagara in their first 16 outings. Since then it’s been three straight losses to Quinnipiac, Marist and Iona for Siena, leading to a 3-16 record thus far.
Matched up against Iona in their Friday outing, the Saints were drilled 41-16 in the first half. Siena posted a 35-29 run the rest of the way in a sizable loss 70-51. Zek Tekin was the team’s leading contributor on 17 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals.

I’ll stay with Saint Peter’s. The Peacocks need a good effort here following a rough showing against a struggling Rider team, though. Saint Peter’s put up just 30.3 percent shooting from the field and 6-of-21 (28.6 percent) from 3-point range in that one. The Peacocks have been below 70 points in four of their last six games, however they’ve got a good opportunity to notch a nice outing here. Siena has scored just 99 combined points in their last two outings and shouldn’t put up much of a fight.
