Siena vs St. Bonaventure 12/19/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The St. Bonaventure Bonnies and the Siena Saints meet Monday in college basketball action from Times Union Center. St. Bonaventure is 6-5 on the season so far. The Bonnies lost to Florida Gulf Coast in their last game. As for Siena, they’re 5-5 overall and fresh off a loss to Delaware. St. Bonaventure has managed wins over St. Francis PA, Bowling Green, Southern IN, Notre Dame, Middle Tennessee and Cleveland State. The Bonnies have lost to Canisius, SD State, Buffalo, Iona and FGCU otherwise. 

In the Florida Gulf Coast matchup on Friday, the Bonnies were up 33-31 going into the second half. St. Bonaventure hit a 40-25 deficit in the second and lost 71-58, though. Daryl Banks led the way on 18 points and four boards. 

Over on the Siena side, their wins have come versus Holy Cross, Albany, Florida State, Seton Hall and Canisius. The Saints’ losses have come to Army, Harvard, Ole Miss, Georgetown and Delaware otherwise. 

Matched up against Delaware last Sunday, Siena trailed 33-28 by the break. The Saints were outscored 42-36 in the second and ended up losing 75-64. Jayce Johnson topped the team on 21 points with five rebounds. 

PICK: I’m leaning toward St. Bonaventure in this one. You could probably make a good case either way, though. The Bonnies haven’t looked great over their last two games, scoring a combined 115 points in a pair of losses. St. Bonaventure hasn’t passed 66 points for four straight games, however the team should score a little better here. As for Siena, they’ve scored 64 points of fewer in three of their last five games, going just 2-3 in that time. The Saints certainly have a shot at a cover/win in this one, but I don’t think they’ll get there.
