South Dakota State vs UMKC College Basketball Picks, Odds, Predictions 2/26/21

The UMKC Roos and the South Dakota State Jackrabbits meet in college basketball action from Frost Arena on Friday night.

The UMKC Roos will look to build on an 80-69 win over Denver last time out. Brandon McKissic leads the Roos in scoring with 17.5 PPG along with a team-high 3.4 APG while Josiah Allick has 14.6 PPG with 6.1 RPG and D’Anthony Pennington has 14 PPG with 3 APG and 3 steals per game this season. Arkel Lamar has 11.4 PPG and 6 RPG and Marcus Nesbitt Jr. has 10.7 PPG with a team-high 6.8 RPG as well on the year. As a team, UMKC is averaging 71 PPG on 50.5% shooting from the field, 37.7% from 3-point range and 65.3% from the foul line while allowing 60.8 PPG on 41.6% shooting from the field and 31.9% from 3-point range this season.

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits will look to rebound from an 84-82 loss to North Dakota State last time out. Doug Wilson leads the Jackrabbits in scoring with 16.3 PPG and 5.5 RPG while Noah Freidel has 16 PPG with 4.2 RPG and 2.1 APG. Baylor Scheierman has 15.7 PPG and a team-high 9.3 RPG and 3.8 APG and Alex Arians has 10.8 PPG with 4.7 RPG to make up the group of double-digit scorers for South Dakota State up to this point in the season. As a team, South Dakota State is averaging 80.1 PPG on 48.4% shooting from the field, 40.1% shooting from the field and 70.3% from the foul line while allowing 73.8 PPG on 43.1% shooting from the field and 33.6% from 3-point range this season.

The favorite is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings between these two teams.

I’ve been as high on anyone as South Dakota State over the course of the season as I just think the Jackrabbits get no respect and no love for how well they’ve been playing in the Summit League in recent years. The Jackrabbits are also winning games by 15.9 PPG at home and UMKC is only putting up 60.4 PPG on the road which is why I’m backing the Roos here. The line makes no sense as South Dakota State should be at least 4 points more favored in my opinion  I just don’t see it so operating under the someone knows something logic, I’ll back the Roos with the points in this one.
