The St. Thomas (MN) Tommies and the South Dakota Coyotes meet in college basketball action from the Sanford Coyotes Sports Center on Thursday night.

The St. Thomas (MN) Tommies will look to snap a double-digit losing skid after a 75-64 loss to North Dakota State last time out. Riley Miller leads the Tommies in scoring with 15.2 PPG along with 2.4 APG while Anders Nelson has 14.9 PPG with a team-high 3 APG and Parker Bjorklund has 13.5 PPG with 6.4 RPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for St. Thomas (MN) this season. As a team, St. Thomas (MN) is averaging 74.5 PPG on 44.2% shooting from the field, 36.1% from three and 74.8% from the foul line while allowing 74.4 PPG on 48.1% from the field and 36.6% from three this season.

The South Dakota Coyotes will hope to add to an 84-76 win over Denver last time out. Kruz Perrott-Hunt leads the Coyotes in scoring and assists with 15 PPG and 2.4 APG while Mason Archambault has 14.7 PPG with 3.9 RPG and 2 APG and Xavier Fuller has 11.3 PPG with 3.9 RPG. Tasos Kamateros has 10.7 PPG with 5.4 RPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for South Dakota up to this point in the year. Hunter Goodrick has a team-high 7.5 RPG to lead the Coyotes on the glass this season. As a team, South Dakota is averaging 75.2 PPG on 46.3% shooting from the field, 36.6% from three and 73.8% from the foul line while allowing 70.8 PPG on 45.2% shooting from the field and 37.8% from three this season.

St. Thomas (MN) is 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games as an underdog and 0-9 ATS in their last 9 games following an ATS loss while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. South Dakota is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games overall and 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games against a team with a losing record while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 home games following three or more consecutive road games.

I’m not rushing to the window to bet this one, but if you must, I feel that the Coyotes are the play here. The Tommies are starting to show the inexperience that comes with a jump from D-III to D-I and they’ve been beat up in the underdog role as of late. South Dakota is far from a world-beater, but they’re a far better team at home than on the road and I think the Coyotes bag themselves a win and cover here.
