The Temple Owls will travel to the Yuengling Center to take on the South Florida Bulls this Monday night in College Basketball action.

The Temple Owls won their 2nd straight game and improved to 13-7 on the season after defeating the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, 67-58, this past Saturday. Temple allowed Tulsa to fight back from a 32-21 halftime deficit to make it a competitive game late, however, the Owls were able to pull away for the victory after taking a 59-52 lead with 2:01 left in regulation. Temple shot 41.0% from the field & 17.4% from beyond the arc while allowing Tulsa to shoot 44.0% from the field & 11.1% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Owls was Nick Jourdain who had a double-double with 15 points, 12 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, & 1 steal.

On the season, Temple is averaging 67.2 ppg on 40.6% shooting from the field. The Owls are averaging 6.2 three-pointers per game on 29.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Temple has been led by Damian Dunn (15.7 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.0 apg, 1.0 spg), Jeremiah Williams (10.1 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 4.6 apg, 1.5 spg), Nick Jourdain (7.4 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 1.6 bpg), & Jahlil White (6.3 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.1 spg).

Defensviely, Temple is holding their opponents to an average of 65.3 ppg on 39.6% shooting from the field. The Owls have a rebound margin of 2.2 and a turnover margin of -0.1.

The South Florida Bulls lost their 4th straight game and dropped to 6-14 on the season after being defeated by the UCF Knights, 68-49, this past Thursday. South Florida had no answers on the offensive end against UCF and could not fight back after the Bulls took a 52-35 lead with 11:41 left in regulation. South Florida shot just 34.0% from the field & 15.4% from beyond the arc while allowing UCF to shoot 42.9% from the field & 43.8% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bulls was Russel Tchewa who had 13 points & 4 rebounds.

On the season, South Florida is averaging 57.2 ppg on 37.7% shooting from the field. The Bulls are averaging 4.3 three-pointers per game on 24.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, South Florida has been led by Caleb Murphy (12.1 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 3.2 apg), Javon Greene (9.7 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.8 spg), Jamir Chaplin (8.9 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 1.3 apg), & Russel Tchewa (5.9 ppg, 5.3 rpg).

Defensively, South Florida is holding their opponents to an average of 64.4 ppg on 40.9% shooting from the field. The Bulls have a rebound margin of 0.5 and a turnover margin of -0.3.

The Owls are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games, however, are just 2-4 ATS in their last 6 games vs. South Florida. The Bulls are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games and just 1-7 ATS in their last 8 February games.

Temple has been solid in AAC play this season as the Owls come into this game willing 6 of their last 8 games with their two losses coming in competitive games against Houston & SMU. South Florida plays better at home (5-5 record), however this is a team that has really struggled on the offense end (348th in scoring offense & FG%) and have lost their last 4 games by an average of 22.3 ppg. Temple has a defense (ranked 77th in scoring defense; 28th in defensive FG%) that should give South Florida plenty of trouble and as the Owls have been solid on the road this season, posting a 4-2 record, I think the play here is to take the Owls to cover this small road spread. Good Luck!
