The UAB Blazers and the Southern Miss Golden Eagles meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Reed Green Coliseum. UAB is 22-7 so far this year. The Blazers beat UTEP in their most recent outing. As for Southern Miss, they’re currently 6-23 and coming off a loss to Rice. UAB has managed to stay consistent this year and the team hasn’t lost consecutive games yet. The Blazers are 3-1 in their last four outings. They’ve got a loss to North Texas amid wins over Rice, UTSA and UTEP in that span.

PICK: I’m going to stay with UAB, but it’s a pretty thick line. The Blazers have had a couple of dud outings over their last several games, but generally they’re still playing very well. In a bit of a fluke however, UAB has failed to hit 70 points in each of the last three games.
The last time these teams met up on February 10, UAB secured an 84-63 win at home. This rematch may be a little tougher but the Blazers should still be fully capable of a cover.
