St. Bonaventure vs Iona 12/11/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Iona Gaels and the St. Bonaventure Bonnies meet Sunday in college basketball action from Barclays Center. Iona enters this one at 5-2 overall. The Gaels beat Saint Louis in their last game. Iona went 2-2 over their first four games, beating Penn and Vermont with losses otherwise to Hofstra and Santa Clara. The Gaels have since won three straight over Niagara, Canisius and Saint Louis.

In the matchup versus the Billikens on Tuesday, the Gaels took a 45-32 edge into the second half. Iona cruised from there in an 84-62 win. Daniss Jenkins led the way on 21 points, and Walter Clayton doubled on 20 points and 12 rebounds. 

Over on the St. Bonaventure side, they lost two of their first three games to Canisius and South Dakota State. The Bonnies beat Bowling Green, Southern Indiana, Notre Dame and Middle Tennessee before another loss to Buffalo. 

On Wednesday versus Cleveland State, the Bonnies got back into the win column. St. Bonaventure was up 28-22 by the break and scored 33 more in a 61-42 win. Daryl Banks put up 15 points with three rebounds. 

PICK: I might take a stab on Iona here. The Gaels have been scoring very well across their seven games so far. Iona has hit 71 or more points in every outing, and they’ve got 78 or more in three straight. The Gaels have allowed 62 or fewer points in that trio as well. 

As for St. Bonaventure, they’ve got some big points totals this year themselves. The Bonnies should be able to keep the pace in this one if they’re playing well. I like Iona a little better cover-wise, though. Should be a good matchup.
