St. Bonaventure vs Richmond 1/14/23 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Richmond Spiders and the St. Bonaventure Bonnies meet Saturday in college basketball action from Reilly Center. Richmond comes into this one at 10-7 overall. The Spiders beat Davidson in their last game. As for St. Bonaventure, they’re 8-9 this year following a loss to Rhode Island. Richmond went 6-6 in their first 12 games with wins over Northern Iowa, VMI, Temple, Drake, FDU and Bucknell. The Spiders are 4-1 since then with wins versus Coppin State, George Washington, Duquesne and Davidson. 

In the Davidson game back on Wednesday, the Spiders took a 33-30 lead into the break. Richmond posted a 28-27 edge from there and won it 61-57. Tyler Burton led the team on 17 points with 12 rebounds. 

Over on the St. Bonaventure side, they were 6-6 after 12 games as well, beating St. Francis PA, Bowling Green, Southern IN, Notre Dame, Middle Tennessee and Cleveland State. The Bonnies are 2-3 in their last five with wins over UMass and George Mason. 

The Bonnies took on Rhode Island in their Wednesday game. St. Bonaventure trailed 29-27 by halftime, and though they put up 40 second-half points the Bonnies lost 68-67. Kyrell Luc led the team on 20 points with nine assists and seven boards. 

PICK: I’m going to stick with Richmond. This should be a pretty good matchup regardless, though. The Spiders are 5-1 in their last six games with a lone loss 62-58 to George Mason as the blemish. Richmond has scored 73 or more points in four of those six games as well. As for St. Bonaventure, they’ve scored 67 or fewer in three of the last four games. I like the Bonnies to put up a decent effort here but I don’t think they’ll catch Richmond.
