Marquette Team Preview

The Marquette Golden Eagles come into this one looking to build on an 87-74 win over Villanova last time out. Kam Jones leads the Golden Eagles in scoring with 15.3 PPG along with 3.1 RPG and 2.4 APG while Tyler Kolek has 14.2 PPG with 5.1 RPG and a team-high 6.6 APG to lead Marquette in the assist department. St. John’s Red Storm Team Preview

The St. John’s Red Storm come into this one looking to rebound from back-to-back losses after an 80-65 loss to Seton Hall last time out. Joel Soriano leads the Red Storm in scoring and rebounding, averaging a double-double per game with 16.4 PPG and 9.8 RPG along with 1.8 BPG while Daniss Jenkins has 13.1 PPG with a team-high 5.9 APG to lead the Red Storm in the assist department. Jordan Dingle has 10.5 PPG to cap off the scoring in double figures for St. John’s up to this point in the year. RJ Luis Jr. has 9.9 PPG with 5.3 RPG in 8 games and Chris Ledlum has 9.8 PPG with 7.7 RPG as well this season. As a team, St. John’s is averaging 77.9 PPG on 44.6% shooting from the field, 34.2% from three and 70.3% from the foul line this season.

Marquette vs. St. John’s Prediction

I’m on the Golden Eagles here. There’s word that Rick Pitino and Jordan Dingle will be missing this game because of positive COVID tests, and who knows if that’ll affect anyone else on the team or if Pitino or Dingle will even be back for this game. Marquette’s got a solid history of winning games on the road and I think they do enough to get the win and cover here. Give me Marquette on the road.
