St. John’s Team Preview

The St. John’s Red Storm come into this game looking to rebound from back-to-back losses after a 75-72 loss to Providence last time out. Joel Soriano leads the Red Storm in scoring and rebounding with 15 PPG and 9.3 RPG along with 1.6 BPG while Daniss Jenkins has 14.2 PPG with a team-high 5.4 APG to lead the Red Storm in the assist department. Jordan Dingle has 10.4 PPG while RJ Luis Jr. has 10.3 PPG with 4.9 RPG in 15 games. Chris Ledlum also has 9.2 PPG with 7.3 RPG as well this season. As a team, St. John’s is averaging 76.7 PPG on 44% shooting from the field, 33% from three and 70.4% from the foul line this season.

Seton Hall vs. St. John’s Prediction

I’m taking the points with Seton Hall here. I just can’t get to this number with St. John’s in their current form. Seton Hall is far from a world-beating offense, but they are the best offensive rebounding team in the conference while St. John’s gives up a lot of second chances, and Seton Hall is the 2nd-best team in the Big East at the foul line while the Red Storm give up a ton of free throws. St. John’s is the worst free throw shooting team in the conference despite getting to the line at a high rate and I think that those missed free throws could prove to be costly. I’ll take Seton Hall and the points here.
