The Idaho Vandals and the Stanford Cardinal meet Sunday in college basketball action from Maples Pavilion. Idaho is currently sitting on a three-game win streak, improving to 6-4 overall with a victory versus Utah Tech last weekend. As for 4-4 Stanford, they’ve lost three of the last four but did take out San Diego in their latest appearance. Let’s get into our Idaho vs. Stanford prediction. Idaho Vandals
The Vandals skidded to a 3-4 start to the season, beating only Evergreen State, Pacific Lutheran and Denver during that time. Otherwise Idaho lost to Washington State, CSU Northridge, Seattle and Denver. The next two games were both wins over Cal Poly and Pacific, however.
Idaho was able to keep the win streak going in their last matchup versus Utah Tech, but this one was close. After a 38-35 advantage in the first half, the Vandals managed to hang on for a 63-62 outcome after just 25 more points. Leading the team in scoring was Quinn Denker with 18 points and four rebounds.

Stanford Cardinal
Over on the Cardinal’s side, they also managed a 3-4 start this year. Stanford beat CSU Northridge, Sacramento State and Eastern Washington in that stretch, but otherwise fell to Santa Clara, Arkansas, Michigan and Northern Iowa. The Cardinal put up just 19.2 percent shooting from outside in the 73-51 loss to the Panthers.
Sanford crawled back into the win column in their latest game against San Diego. The Cardinal stormed out to a 43-27 advantage by the break and ended up taking it 88-64. Brandon Angel was the leading scorer on the team with 25 points, eight rebounds and three assists. Michael Jones chipped in with 19 points as well.
ANDREW’S FREE IDAHO VS STANFORD PREDICTION
I’ll probably take a stab on Idaho. If the Cardinal play well though, you could make a case either way in this one. The Vandals had a little more trouble than they probably should have against Utah Tech in their last outing, shooting a tepid 37.7 percent from the field. It was the first time all year that Idaho has scored fewer than 73 points in a victory.
As for Stanford, they’ve hit 74 or more points in all but one game so far this season. The Cardinal should score pretty well on Sunday as well, but if Idaho is playing to their capabilities I think the Vandals can power out a cover pace. Should be an interesting matchup at least.
