Stanford vs Oregon Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/21/23

The Oregon Ducks and the Stanford Cardinal meet Saturday in college basketball action from Maples Pavilion. Oregon is fresh off a Wednesday matchup versus California. In that one the Ducks took a blowout win. As for Stanford, they played Oregon State on Thursday. The Cardinal ended up winning by 21 points there. Oregon Ducks 

Oregon managed an 8-6 run over their first 14 games, losing to UC Irvine, Houston, UConn, Michigan State, UCLA and Utah Valley. The Ducks hit a 2-2 run after that with losses to Colorado and Arizona State alongside wins over Utah and Arizona. 

Matched up against California on Wednesday, the Ducks were up 34-21 going into the second half. Oregon hit a 53-37 run from there and won it 87-58. Rivaldo Soares had 13 points, and Will Richardson doubled on 11 points and 10 assists. 

Stanford Cardinal 

Over on the Stanford side, they were 5-9 after 14 games with wins over Pacific, Cal Poly, Florida State, Green Bay and Loyola IL. The Cardinals would then lose to California, Washington and Washington State over the next trio. 

On Thursday versus Oregon State, Stanford was up 31-22 at the break. The Cardinal kept the pressure on with a 36-24 second half and won 67-46. Both Spencer Jones and Michael Jones scored 18 points with three rebounds each.

I’ll probably stick with Oregon. I could also probably go either way here. The Ducks are coming off a pretty routine win over California, shooting 59.6 percent from the field along the way. Oregon has hit 70 or more points in four straight games and as long as they keep up that trend here I think the Ducks will be fine cover-wise. Stanford hasn’t been great over the last six games, however they did a decent job against Oregon State on Thursday and could surprise if they get going.
