The UCLA Bruins and the Stanford Cardinal meet in college basketball action from the Maples Pavilion on Thursday night.

The UCLA Bruins will look to build on back-to-back wins after an 81-60 win over Bellarmine last time out. Jaime Jaquez Jr. leads the Bruins in scoring with 16.7 PPG and 6 RPG while Jaylen Clark has 15.7 PPG with a team-high 7.7 RPG to lead the Bruins on the glass. Tyger Campbell has 14 PPG with a team-high 4.9 APG to lead UCLA in the assist department while David Singleton has 11.3 PPG with 3.9 RPG and Amari Bailey has 10.3 PPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for UCLA so far this season. As a team, UCLA is averaging 83 PPG on 50.4% shooting from the field, 39.1% from three and 70.2% from the foul line this season.

The Stanford Cardinal will hope to bounce back from a 56-48 loss to Memphis last time out. Spencer Jones leads the Cardinal in scoring with 10.7 PPG and 4 RPG while Harrison Ingram has 10.4 PPG with 5.4 RPG and a team-high 3.3 APG to lead Stanford in assists this season. Michael Jones has 10.3 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Stanford up to this point in the season while Maxime Reynaud has a team-high 6.1 RPG to lead Stanford in rebounding so far this season. As a team, Stanford is averaging 66.6 PPG on 42.3% shooting from the field, 28.3% from three and 68.9% from the foul line this season.

UCLA is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following an ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games against a team with a winning home record while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Stanford is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games against a team with a winning record while the under is 5-1 in their last 6 games overall.

I get the reasoning for backing either side in this game, but I’m looking at UCLA here. Both teams bring back a lot of talent from last year, but they both bring back talent from a pair of games between these two teams that both went UCLA’s way in terms of SU/ATS results last season. I just think that UCLA blows past the Cardinal here, so I’ll lay the points with UCLA here.
