Abilene Christian Wildcats
The Wildcats have had a pretty choppy year, but they’ve been playing well lately. Abilene Christian started out on a rough 8-15 run, then beat UTRGV, Stephen F. Austin, Cal Baptist, Grand Canyon, Southern Utah, Utah Tech and Seattle U over the next seven games.
In their last matchup versus Utah Valley on Saturday, Abilene Christian fell back into the loss column. The Wildcats were up 38-35 going into the second half, but then got outscored by 10 in a 74-67 loss. Tops in scoring was Ali Abdou Dibba with 17 points, five rebounds and two steals.

Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks
Over on the Lumberjacks’ side, they were 14-9 through their first 25 games this year. Stephen F. Austin would then lose four straight in February before another win over Cal Baptist. The Lumberjacks have since lost to Grand Canyon before beating Southern Utah and Utah Tech.
Matched up against Utah Tech over the weekend, the Lumberjacks went into the break with a 34-23 edge. Stephen F. Austin kept it up in the second half with 50 more points in an 84-71 victory. Nana Antwi-Boasiako led the way with his 30 points and three rebounds in the win.
ANDREW’S FREE ABILENE CHRISTIAN VS STEPHEN F AUSTIN PREDICTION
I’ll take a stab on Abilene Christian here. We should have a good matchup regardless, though. The Wildcats had a bad second half versus Utah Valley in their latest matchup and eventually got out-rebounded 36-29 in the defeat. Abilene Christian shot well overall (48 percent) but also hit just 27.3 percent from 3-point range and 61.5 percent from the line.
The last time these teams met up back on February 17, the Wildcats eked out a 63-62 road victory. Abilene Christian shot pretty badly in that one (37 percent) and lost the rebounding battle 34-23. The Wildcats also scored 21 points off 21 Lumberjacks turnovers, though. Anything could happen in this rematch so it seems like a coin flip, but I’m leaning slightly toward Abilene Christian.
