The Austin Peay Governors and Stetson Hatters meet Sunday in the college basketball ASUN Tournament Championship at the Edmunds Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Austin Peay vs. Stetson Prediction.

Austin Peay Team Preview

The Austin Peay Governors entered the championship game by virtue of a 77-71 win over North Alabama last time out. DeMarcus Sharp leads the Governors across the board with 17.2 PPG, 6.7 RPG and 4.4 APG along with 2 SPG while Dezi Jones has 14.4 PPG with 3.5 RPG and 3.1 APG. Sai Witt has 12.3 PPG with 5.4 RPG and Ja’Monta Black has 12.2 PPG with 3.6 RPG. Isaac Haney has 11.7 PPG with 4 RPG to finish off the scoring in double figures for Austin Peay up to this point in the year. As a team, Austin Peay is averaging 74.5 PPG on 45% shooting from the field, 37% from three and 69.5% from the foul line this season.

Stetson Team Preview

The Stetson Hatters punched their ticket to the title game after an 88-87 win over Jacksonville last time out. Jalen Blackmon leads the Hatters in scoring with 21.1 PPG along with 2.7 RPG while Stephan Swenson has 13.1 PPG with 4.6 RPG and 6 APG to lead the Hatters in the assist department this season as well. Aubin Gaterense also has 11.1 PPG with a team-high 7.7 RPG and Alec Oglesby has 11.1 PPG with 4.5 RPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Stetson this season. As a team, Stetson is averaging 76.5 PPG on 46.1% shooting from the field, 36.3% from three and 76.7% from the foul line this season.

Austin Peay vs. Stetson Prediction

I’m on Stetson here. The Hatters took the lone meeting between the two this season by a single point, but I’ve really been impressed with what I’ve seen from Stetson over the course of the tournament. Peay’s been solid as well, but I think Stetson will be up late and with the title on the line, you normally see more desperation fouls to extend the game and Stetson’s a top-35 team nationally at the foul line. I’ll side with the Hatters here.
