The Jacksonville State Gamecocks improved to 16-7 on the season after defeating the Jacksonville Dolphins, 64-58, this past Saturday. Jacksonville State led by a 33-30 margin at halftime and pulled away in the 2nd half after an 11-0 run gave the Gamecocks a 59-49 lead with just 1:25 left in regulation. Jacksonville State shot 41.7% from the field & 38.1% from beyond the arc while allowing Jacksonville to shoot 36.37% from the field & 39.1% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Gamecocks was Darian Adams who had 22 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, & 2 steals.

On the season, Jacksonville State is averaging 75.4 ppg on 46.8% shooting from the field. The Gamecocks are averaging 9.7 three-pointers per game on 40.2% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Jacksonville State has been led by Darian Adams (15.0 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 4.0 apg, 1.5 spg), Demaree King (11.5 ppg, 1.9 rpg, 2.0 apg), Jalen Gibbs (11.0 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.5 apg), & Brandon Huffman (10.0 ppg, 6.0 rpg, 1.1 bpg).

Defensively, Jacksonville State is allowing their opponents to average 67.9 ppg on 41.4% shooting from the field. The Gamecocks have a rebound margin of 5.5 and a turnover margin of -1.1.

The Stetson Hatters had their 2-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 10-13 on the season after being defeated by the Central Arkansas Bears, 79-75, this past Saturday. Stetson trailed by just a 33-31 margin at halftime, however, the Hatters came out flat in the 2nd half and could not fight back after Central Arkansas took a 59-41 lead with 8:57 left in regulation. Stetson shot 48.1% from the field & 26.3% from beyond the arc while allowing Central Arkansas to shoot 47.8% from the field & 35.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Hatters was Stephan Swenson who had 20 points, 4 rebounds, 8 assists, & 3 steals.

The Gamecocks are 6-1 ATS I their last 7 road games and 12-9 ATS overall on the season. The Hatters are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss, however, are just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 Wednesday games.

Jacksonville State is one of the better teams in the ASUN this season and have been outstanding on both ends of the court as they come into this game ranked t-84th in scoring offense, 51st in FG%, & 85th in defensive FG%. Stetson has played well recently, highlighted by a win at Lipscomb, however, this is a team that is still missing their leading scorer in Rob Parker and currently rank just 217th in scoring offense & 215th in scoring defense. Jacksonville State has a 7-4 record on the road this season and as I think their offense will have plenty of success in this one, I’m taking Jacksonville State to cover this road spread. Good Luck!
