Milwaukee Panthers Team Preview
The Milwaukee Panthers found their way into the CBI as the 11-seed, finishing the year at 21-11 overall including a 14-6 mark in Horizon League play to finish with the 2-seed in the Horizon League Tournament. As the 2-seed, the Panthers dropped Wright State before falling to Cleveland State in the semifinals. BJ Freeman leads the Panthers in scoring and assists with 17.4 PPG and 3 APG while Kentrell Pullian has 10.8 PPG and 4.3 RPG as the only other double-digit scorer for Milwaukee so far this season. Markeith Browning II also has 9.7 PPG and a team-high 5.2 RPG to lead the Panthers on the glass as well this season. As a team, Milwaukee is averaging 78.3 PPG on 46% shooting from the field, 35.2% from three and 73.2% from the foul line this season.
Stetson Hatters Team Preview
The Stetson Hatters come in as the 6-seed out of the ASUN, finishing the year 17-13, including a 12-6 mark in ASUN Conference play to finish with the 4-seed at the ASUN tournament. The Hatters’ stay in the ASUN tournament was short-lived, as they were bounced in their quarterfinal matchup by Lipscomb. Jalen Blackmon led the Hatters in scoring with 15.2 PPG while Stephan Swenson has 10.5 PPG and a team-high 4.8 APG to lead the Hatters in the assist department this season. Luke Brown has 10.2 PPG to cap off the trio of double-digit scorers for Stetson so far this season while Josh Smith also has 9.8 PPG and a team-high 6.2 RPG to lead the Hatters on the glass up to this point in the year. As a team, Stetson is averaging 76.6 PPG on 46.5% shooting from the field, 38.9% from three and 77.3% from the foul line this season.
Milwaukee is 1-11 ATS in their last 12 neutral site games and 0-4-1 ATS in their last 5 games against a team with a winning percentage above .600 while the under is 4-1 in their last 5 games following a double-digit loss at home. I like the over here. There wasn’t a ton of defense played on either side down the stretch, and truth be told I’m not expecting that to change here. Both teams averaged 80+ PPG in their last 5 games to get to this point and a game that gets into the 160s wouldn’t surprise me in the least. Give me the over here.
