Stonehill vs Fairleigh Dickinson Pick – Basketball Predictions & Odds 1/16/23

Fairleigh Dickinson hit a 6-6 run over their first 12 games, losing to Loyola IL, SIUE, Longwood, Pittsburgh, Saint Peter’s and Hartford. The Knights are 5-2 in their last seven with losses to only Richmond and Queens NC in that time. 

On Saturday versus Central CT State, the Knights took a 44-42 edge into the break. Fairleigh Dickinson hit a 44-38 run in the second half and won it 88-80. Grant Singleton led the team on 20 points with five rebounds. 

Over on the Stonehill side, they were 4-8 after 12 games with wins over Army, Holy Cross, Binghamton and Eastern Nazarene. The Skyhawks are 3-4 since then with wins over Sacred Heart, Wagner and Central CT State. 

Matched up against Merrimack on Saturday, the Skyhawks were up 29-28 by the break. Stonehill fell behind on a 31-18 run from there and lost 59-47. Max Zegarowski led the team on a double-double with 17 points and 10 boards. 

PICK: I’m going to stay with Fairleigh Dickinson here. The Knights are on a nice five-game win streak right now, and they’ve hit 71 or more points in each of their last six outings. Fairleigh Dickinson has given up 63 or fewer points in three of their last five games as well. As for Stonehill, they’ve been in a scoring slump lately with 62 or fewer points in three straight games. I don’t think the Skyhawks will keep cover pace here if FDU gets going.
