The NC State Wolfpack and the Syracuse Orange meet Tuesday in college basketball action from the Carrier Dome. NC State is sitting at 20-6 so far this year. The Wolfpack beat Boston College in their last game. As for Syracuse, they’re currently 15-10 and coming off a win over Florida State last Wednesday. NC State Wolfpack
NC State managed to kick off the year with a 14-4 run across their first 18 games. The Wolfpack have gone a nice 7-1 since then, beating Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Wake Forest, Florida State, Georgia Tech again and Boston College in that time.
On Saturday versus Boston College, the Wolfpack jumped out to a 44-32 lead at the break. NC State hit a 48-30 run in the second half and took the blowout win 92-62. Jarkel Joiner scored 26 points and DJ Burns doubled on 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Syracuse Orange
Over on the Syracuse side, they were sitting at a decent 12-6 at the 18-game mark this year. The Orange are just 3-4 since then however, falling to Miami-FL, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Virginia along the way.
Last Wednesday versus Florida State, Syracuse went into the locker room with a 35-29 deficit. The Orange bounced back with a 47-32 second-half run and won it 76-67. Joseph Girard was the leading team scorer on 26 points and seven rebounds.

I was going to take a stab on Syracuse here, but with the slim line I’m siding with NC State. The Orange have a couple of consecutive road wins in the bag right now, scoring a combined 153 points in victories over Boston College and Florida State. Syracuse has lost consecutive home games however, and this one’s going to be a tough matchup as well. NC State is riding a 5-1 stretch, scoring 72 or more points in each of the wins during that time. Syracuse is going to have to get off to a good start and keep the offense up for the whole game, and I don’t think they’ll quite get to a cover/win.
