The Cincinnati Bearcats and the TCU Horned Frogs meet Saturday in college basketball action from Schollmaier Arena. Cincinnati is currently 16-10 on the year after a loss to Oklahoma State. As for TCU, they’re coming off a loss to Texas Tech that dropped the frogs to 18-8 so far. Let’s get into our Cincinnati vs. TCU prediction. Cincinnati Bearcats

The Bearcats started out the year on a nice 12-2 run but it’s been a pretty choppy stretch since then. Cincinnati is just 2-4 in their last six games. The losses in that time have come versus West Virginia, Houston, Iowa State and Oklahoma State with wins over Texas Tech and UCF otherwise.

In their latest outing versus Oklahoma State on Wednesday, the Bearcats came into the second half with a 37-32 deficit. Cincinnati posted a 44-43 advantage from there but it wasn’t enough in an 80-76 defeat. Simas Lukosius was the leading team scorer on his 17 points with five rebounds and four assists.

TCU Horned Frogs

Over on the Frogs’ side, they posted a 16-5 run to start the year, taking losses to Clemson, Nevada, Kansas, Cincinnati and Iowa State. TCU is 2-3 in their last five games with losses to Texas, Iowa State and Texas Tech mixed with wins over West Virginia and Kansas State.

In the Texas Tech matchup on Tuesday, the Frogs were all knotted up 38-38 by halftime. TCU was outscored 44-43 the rest of the way in a tough loss 82-81. Emanuel Miller doubled up in the loss with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Avery Anderson added 15 bench points.

ANDREW’S FREE CINCINNATI VS TCU PREDICTION

I’ll stay with TCU here. The Frogs couldn’t quite topple a good Texas Tech team on the road in their last outing despite shooting a reasonable 42.3 percent from the field with a 49-36 rebounding edge. TCU did give up 12 turnovers though, leading to 13 Texas Tech points. The Frogs are at least scoring well right now, with 75 or more points in three straight.

The last time these teams saw each other was back on January 16 in an 81-77 overtime road loss for the Frogs. TCU gave up a whopping 52.5 percent from the field in that one but did own the boards 41-35. It was a messy game with 34 total turnovers (19 from the Frogs), so this rematch could get wild. I like TCU to get some revenge at home, though.
