The Nevada Wolf Pack and the TCU Horned Frogs meet Friday in college basketball action from Stan Sheriff Center. Nevada is sitting at 10-1 overall and riding a three-game win streak after dispatching Temple on Thursday. As for TCU, they beat Old Dominion in their last matchup to improve to 9-1 this year. Nevada Wolf Pack 

The Wolf Pack kicked off their season on a nice 7-0 run. In that stretch, Nevada took out Sacramento State, Washington, Pacific, Portland, Montana, Loyola Marymount and UC Davis before a loss to Drake. In the next trio, the Wolf Pack were able to bounce back with wins over Weber State, Hawaii and Temple. 

Matched up against Temple on Thursday, Nevada didn’t have too many issues. The Wolf Pack were up 35-28 by the break and cruised from there on 45 more points in an 80-56 victory. Leading team scorer Jarod Lucas put up 22 points with two rebounds, and Nick Davidson added 19 points with 16 boards. 

TCU Horned Frogs

Over on the TCU side, they also came out of the gate on a 7-0 run. Victories in that time came versus Southern, Omaha, UTRGV, MS Valley State, Alcorn State, Houston Christian and Georgetown. After a loss to Clemson, the Horned Frogs beat Arizona State and Old Dominion in their next pair. 

In Thursday’s matchup versus Old Dominion, the Frogs held a modest six-point edge going into the break. The second half was much better for TCU though, as they posted 64 more points on the way to a 111-87 blowout win. Leading scorer Emanuel Miller put up 21 points with seven rebounds, and Jameer Nelson chipped in 18 points. 

ANDREW’S FREE NEVADA VS TCU PREDICTION 

I’ll probably take a stab on Nevada in this one. You’ll likely be able to make a case either way, though. The Wolf Pack were great on defense against Temple in their latest outing, holding the Owls to just 27.7 percent from the field while shooting 47.5 percent themselves. The 3-point shooting could have been better (25 percent), but Nevada didn’t have trouble cruising to a blowout result. That makes 72 or more points in all nine wins so far this year. 

As for TCU, they notched a nice effort versus Old Dominion on Thursday, shooting 54.5 percent from the field with a dominant 44-22 rebounding edge and 21 team assists. The Frogs have scored exceedingly well this season also, with 79 or more points in all nine wins. This matchup should be a high-scoring finish as well, and it’ll be a fun one to watch.
