The Tulane Green Wave and the Temple Owls meet Sunday in college basketball action from Liacouras Center. Here’s a Temple vs Tulane prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Temple vs Tulane pick.
Tulane Green Wave Betting Preview
This year Tulane had a pretty bad stretch of games in November and December, but other than that they’ve been a fairly solid team overall. The Wave opened on a 4-1 run with a lone loss to Furman amid wins over Louisiana Christian, Louisiana Monroe, Alcorn State, and Bethune-Cookman. A 1-6 stretch came next with a win over Southern Miss alongside losses to New Orleans, Wyoming, Belmont, SE Louisiana, George Mason, and Florida State. Since then it’s been a solid 5-1 run with a lone loss to UAB. Otherwise, the Wave have beaten Dillard, Charlotte, UTSA, South Florida, and Florida Atlantic in that time for a 10-8 record overall.
In the Florida Atlantic game back on Wednesday, the Green Wave came out of the break looking up at a 31-23 edge on the scoreboard. Tulane hit a 49-42 run the rest of the way, powering out the win 80-65 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Kaleb Banks with 25 points, four rebounds, and two steals. Rowan Brumbaugh added 20 points with two steals, two assists, and two rebounds, while Ahser Woods had 16 points with five boards and two steals. Greg Glenn led the rebounding with 11 boards alongside seven points and two steals.
Temple Owls Betting Preview
Over on the Temple side, they opened the year on a spotty .500 run but they’ve since been looking much better. The Owls lost to Boston College, Florida State, La Salle, and Villanova with wins otherwise over Sacred Heart, Monmouth, Drexel, and UMass during a 4-4 start. Temple is 7-2 in their last nine games though, losing to only Rhode Island and East Carolina with wins otherwise versus Holy Family University, Hofstra, Davidson, Buffalo, Wichita State, Rice, and Memphis for an 11-6 overall record so far this year.
Matched up against Memphis in Thursday’s game, the Owls held a 36-30 edge by halftime. Temple didn’t let up in the second on a 52-51 run and took the upset win 88-81 in the end. Leading the team in scoring was Jamal Mashburn Jr. with 21 points, five boards, and four assists. Quante Berry added 19 points with three rebounds and three assists, while Shane Dezonie led the bench players with 15 points and 13 rebounds in 24 minutes of work for a double-double. Zion Stanford chipped in with 10 points off the bench in the win as well.

Temple vs Tulane Prediction
I’m going to stay with Temple. The Owls should be in pretty good shape here—so long as they don’t suffer from the proverbial “big-win hangover” following their upset victory over Memphis. Temple shot a nice 46.8 percent from the field in that one but really took it to another level on the boards with a 49-25 rebounding edge (22-10 offensive). During this current 4-2 stretch, Temple has been scoring quite well with 73 or more points in each game. Another total above that threshold will put the Owls in a great spot on Sunday. They’re playing quite well these days and haven’t suffered consecutive losses since way back in late November/early December.
As for Tulane, they dispatched a middling Florida Atlantic team without too much difficulty in their latest outing. The Green Wave shot 46.3 percent from the field in that one alongside 33 rebounds and a solid 23-of-27 (85.2 percent) from the line. Tulane has scored quite well lately, with a nice 69 or more points in six straight games (a 5-1 run). I like this one to be close most of the way, with Temple powering it out in the end. Should be a fun one to watch regardless.
