The UTSA Roadrunners and the Temple Owls meet Wednesday in the college basketball AAC Tournament First Round at the Dickies Center. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a La Salle vs. St. Bonaventure prediction.

UTSA Team Preview

The UTSA Roadrunners come into the conference tournament as the 14-seed, finishing the year at 5-13 in conference play as part of their 11-20 mark overall this season. Jordan Ivy-Curry has 17.7 PPG with 5.3 RPG and 3.1 APG in 20 games while Christian Tucker has 11.1 PPG with a team-high 5.5 APG and 3 RPG, rounding out the pair of double-digit scorers for UTSA up to this point in the year. Carlton Linguard Jr. has 9.2 PPG with a team-high 5.8 RPG to lead the Roadrunners on the glass as well this season. As a team, UTSA is averaging 78 PPG on 41.2% shooting from the field, 33.9% from three and 71.1% from the foul line this season.

Temple Team Preview

The Temple Owls come into the conference tournament as the 11-seed, ending the year with a 5-13 conference mark of their own, as part of their 12-19 overall record this season. Hysier Miller leads the Owls in scoring and assists with 15.4 PPG and 4.1 APG while Jahlil White has 11.2 PPG with 5.9 RPG in 22 games so far this season and Jordan Riley has 12.2 PPG with 5.8 RPG to cap off the group of double-digit scorers for Temple so far this season. As a team, Temple is averaging 70.9 PPG on 39% shooting from the field, 30.7% from three-point range and 71.8% from the foul line this season.

UTSA vs. Temple Prediction

I’m on the over here. These two teams have been inconsistent offensively this season, especially during conference play, but defense has never been the strong suit on either side, and that’s why both meetings in the regular season finished with totals up over 160 points. I know it’s a conference championship and the loser of this game is likely going home with no postseason, but a leopard doesn’t change its spots. Give me the over here.
