Over on the Tigers’ side, they were 12-10 by the 22-game mark this year. Tennessee State is 5-4 in their last nine games with wins over Southern Indiana, Lindenwood, Southeast Missouri State, Eastern Illinois and SIU Edwardsville. The losses were to Tennessee Tech, Western Illinois, Little Rock and TN-Martin.

I’ll stay with Tennessee State. The Tigers had a rough second half in their latest loss to TN-Martin, eventually posting 12 turnovers for 14 Skyhawks points. Tennessee State shot well overall in that one though (50 percent) and didn’t play terribly against a decent team.

Tennessee State managed a 79-74 win at home the last time these teams met up back on February 3. Tennessee State was outworked on the boards 39-24 (18-6 offensive) but the 18 points off 20 Eagles turnovers certainly helped. Southern Indiana likely won’t be so sloppy in the rematch, so Tennessee State will need to improve rebounding-wise here.
