Little Rock Trojans
The Trojans managed a .500 record over their first eight games this year, beating Texas State, Tulsa, Ball State and Arkansas State in that time. Little Rock has since gone 2-3 in a five-game stretch, beating UTSA and Murray State alongside losses to Central Arkansas, Winthrop and Jacksonville State.
Last Thursday versus Jacksonville State, Little Rock was within four points at the break 34-30. The Trojans were demolished on a 56-30 second-half run however and fell 90-60. Leading team scorer Khalen Robinson put up 14 points with three rebounds and a pair of steals in the defeat.
Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles
Over on the Golden Eagles’ side, they were only able to win three of their first 10 games this year. Those victories came versus only Midway University, Presbyterian and Alice Lloyd. Since then it’s been a 2-2 run with wins over Bethel TN and North Alabama between losses to East Tennessee State and Evansville. Tennessee Tech will take on UT Martin after this game.
The Eagles took a blowout loss in their last matchup as well. Tennessee Tech was drilled by Evansville 44-26 in the first half and fell even further behind 38-25 in the second for an 82-51 defeat. David Early was the team’s leading scorer with his 13 points, one rebound and one steal.
ANDREW’S FREE LITTLE ROCK VS TENNESSEE TECH PREDICTION
I’ll take a stab on Tennessee Tech. Granted, there’s not much to get excited about record-wise here, but it should at least be a competitive game. The Eagles played pretty poorly versus a good Evansville team in their last matchup, shooting just 32.1 percent from the field and 15 percent (3-of-20) from 3-point range. Tennessee Tech had scored 70 or more points in five straight games prior to that however, so there’s a good chance the Eagles will have a solid bounce-back effort here. I do like this one to be fairly close most of the way, though.
