Texas A&M vs Louisiana-Monroe 11/7/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The UL Monroe Warhawks and Texas A&M Aggies meet Monday in college basketball action at the Reed Arena. The UL Monroe Warhawks are coming off a 13-win season. The Texas A&M Aggies are coming off a 27-win season.

The UL Monroe Warhawks enter the 13th season under coach Keith Richard. Nika Metskhvarishvili returns after averaging 10 points and 4.5 rebounds, while Thomas Howell averaged 8.1 points and 1.3 assists. Langston Powell played 461 minutes last season and Elijah Gonzales averaged 4 rebounds. The UL Monroe Warhawks say goodbye to their top-4 scorers from last season, which is certain to create growing pains early. UL Monroe does snag several transfers, including Devon Hancock from Milwaukee, Victor Bafutto from Mercer and a pair of former UAB players in Tyreke Locure and AD Diedhiou. Still, UL Monroe has tons of roster turnover. 

The Texas A&M Aggies enter the fourth season under coach Buzz Williams. Henry Coleman III returns after averaging 11 points and 6.2 rebounds, while Tyrece Radford averaged 10.9 points and 1.4 assists. Wade Taylor IV played 700 minutes last season and Andre Gordon averaged 2.2 rebounds. Outside of losing Quenton Jackson, Texas A&M is in terrific shape in terms of returning production. The Aggies also get a quality recruit in Solomon Washington, while transfers Dexter Dennis (Wichita State), Khalen Robinson (Arkansas) and Andersson Garcia (Mississippi State) provide an impact. Texas A&M’s win total last year was the second highest in school history. With so many of those players returning, the Aggies should anticipate a berth to the big dance.

The Warhawks are 4-1-2 ATS in their last 7 road games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Aggies are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 home games and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games overall. The over is 5-0 in Warhawks last 5 overall. The under is 5-1 in Aggies last 6 overall.

The Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks are replacing a ton of players from a year ago, and this isn’t an ideal spot as they try to figure things out. The Texas A&M Aggies were solid last season and return a majority of that squad while adding transfers and recruits. Texas A&M has big dance potential. This is a complete mismatch. I have no choice but to lay the chalk with the Aggies at home.
