Georgia Bulldogs
Georgia managed a 12-4 run over their first 16 games, losing to only Wake Forest, UAB, Georgia Tech and Florida. It’s been a 2-4 stretch since then however, with losses to Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Tennessee and Auburn.
On Wednesday versus Auburn, the Bulldogs were drilled 42-24 in the first half. Georgia didn’t get any closer on a 52-49 deficit from there and lost big 94-73. Mardrez McBride was the leading scorer on 20 points.
Texas A&M Aggies
Over on the Texas A&M side, they went a pretty solid 11-5 in their first 16 outings this year. The Aggies are currently on a 4-2 stretch with wins over South Carolina, Florida, Auburn and Vanderbilt alongside losses to Kentucky and Arkansas.
In the Arkansas matchup back on Tuesday, the Aggies went into the locker room with a 42-34 deficit. Texas A&M didn’t end up getting any closer with 36 second-half points and lost 81-70. Henry Coleman doubled up on 18 points with 15 rebounds in the loss.
ANDREW’S FREE PICK
I’ll probably stick with Texas A&M here. The Aggies are on a solid run right now, going 9-2 over their last 11 games. Texas A&M is just 2-2 over the last four, but they’ve still been scoring well with 67 or more points in each of those outings. As for Georgia, they’re on a 1-4 stretch themselves, taking on some tough teams in that time. The Bulldogs have generally scored pretty well lately though, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see a fairly high total here. That said, I still like the Aggies a little better cover-wise.
