The Houston Christian Huskies and the Texas A&M Aggies meet Friday in college basketball action from Reed Arena. Here’s a Texas A&M vs Houston Christian prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Texas A&M vs Houston Christian pick.

Houston Christian Huskies Betting Preview

The Huskies managed a 2-2 run over their first four, losing to Texas and Creighton in that time. Since then it’s been a 2-5 stretch for Houston Christian, with losses to Rice, Eastern Michigan, Northern Arizona, UTSA, and Northwestern State.

In their latest game versus LA-Monroe, the Huskies held a one-point lead going into the second half. Houston Christian posted a 39-34 run the rest of the way in a 74-68 win. Julian Mackey led the team with 32 points and six rebounds.

Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview

Over on the Aggies’ side, they beat East Texas A&M, Lamar, Ohio State, and Southern during a 4-2 run over their first six games. Texas A&M has since beaten Creighton, Rutgers, Wake Forest, Texas Tech, and Purdue in their last five.

Matched up against Purdue on Saturday, the Aggies held a three-point edge in the locker room. Texas A&M finished on a 32-31 run and took the victory 70-66. Zhuric Phelps and Pharrel Payne each scored a team-high 16 points in the win.

Why the Texas A&M Aggies will win

  • Houston Christian has lost each of its last 14 day games against non-conference opponents.
  • Texas A&M has won 31 of its last 33 games against non-conference opponents at Reed Arena.
  • Houston Christian has lost the first half in each of its last nine Friday road games against non-conference opponents.

Texas A&M vs Houston Christian Prediction

I’ll stay with Texas A&M, but the line’s too thick to mess with. The Aggies are coming off a nice win versus a great Purdue team, posting 44 percent shooting and a 34-23 rebounding edge. Texas A&M did play a pretty sloppy game with 18 turnovers (for 20 Boilermakers points), however. Outside of a couple of duds against UCF (61 points) and Wake Forest (57 points), Texas A&M has hit 70 or more points in every other game this year.

As for Houston Christian, they’re playing better lately with 71 or more points in five of the last six. The Huskies are also giving up a ton of points to solid offenses though, so Texas A&M shouldn’t have any issues scoring here. The only question will likely be the Aggies’ margin of victory, and I think they’ll get to a cover position in the end.
