Texas Southern vs Oral Roberts 11/15/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles and the Texas Southern Tigers meet Tuesday in college basketball action from H&PE Arena. Oral Roberts is coming off a Monday matchup versus Houston. In that game the Eagles fell in a blowout. As for Texas Southern, they’re 1-2 so far and beat Arizona State in their last game. Oral Roberts opened up their year with a matchup versus Saint Mary’s. The Eagles were outscored 47-29 in the first half and lost 78-70. In game two Oral Roberts got a win, taking out John Brown by a blowout score of 95-62. 

In game three versus Houston, Oral Roberts had trouble keeping pace and trailed 51-24 by halftime. The Eagles scored 21 more points from there in an 83-45 blowout loss. DJ Weaver led the team with 12 points and five rebounds. 

Over on the Texas Southern side, their year began with a matchup against San Francisco. The Tigers gave up 50 points in the first half and lost 90-77. The second game against Texas Tech was a rough one as well; Texas Southern lost 78-54. 

The Tigers finally got their first win of the year with a tight affair versus Arizona State. Texas Southern was down 28-24 by halftime but forced overtime with 33 second-half points and won 67-66. PJ Henry led the team on 22 points with four rebounds. 

PICK: I’m likely going to try Texas Southern. Probably not touching it, though. The Tigers did a nice job with the comeback win over Arizona State, notching 50 rebounds along the way. Texas Southern didn’t shoot especially well (39.7 percent) and made just 7-of-19 on free throws, though. 

As for Oral Roberts, there was no way they were going to hang with Houston on Monday, and they didn’t. The Eagles shot just 22.6 percent from the field and were out-rebounded 52-30. This matchup should look much better in the stats columns, but I don’t think Oral Roberts will cover.
