The Lamar Cardinals and the Texas State Bobcats meet Wednesday in college basketball action from Strahan Coliseum. Lamar is 2-8 on the year so far. The Cardinals lost to Texas-Arlington in their last game. As for the Bobcats, they’re 7-2 on the year and coming off a win over Southwestern. Lamar beat Wiley in their opener, then hit a losing streak to Miami-OH, Georgia Tech, Stetson, Southern Miss, UTSA, Texas Tech and Mississippi State. After a win over Our Lady of the Lake, the Cardinals lost again to TX-Arlington.
In the Mavericks matchup back on Saturday, Lamar limped to just 12 points in the first half. Things got better from there but the Cardinals still lost 56-47. Davion Buster topped the team with 21 points and seven rebounds.

Texas State has been scoring well lately, with 71 or more points in six straight games. As for Lamar, they’ve had a few close calls here and there but generally haven’t been able to close out games. I don’t think the outcome will be much different in this one.
