The Eastern Washington Eagles will travel to United Supermarkets Arena to take on the 25th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders this Tuesday afternoon in College Basketball action.

The Eastern Washington Eagles won their 2nd straight game and improved to 6-5 on the season after defeating the Multnomah Lions, 95-56, this past Wednesday. Eastern Washington dominated Multnomah on both ends of the court throughout the game and had no trouble securing the victory after going into halftime with a 50-33 lead. Eastern Washington shot 41.0% from the field & 32.4% from beyond the arc while holding Multnomah to just 32.4% from the field & 18.9% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Eagles was Angelo Allegri who had 23 points, 7 rebounds, & 2 assists.

On the season, Eastern Washington is averaging 79.5 ppg on 44.2% shooting from the field. The Eagles are averaging 9.0 three-pointers per game on 33.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Eastern Washington has been led by Steele Venters (18.5 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.3 spg), Linton Acliese (15.0 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.0 apg), Rylan Bergersen (13.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 4.3 apg, 1.5 spg), Angelo Allegri (10.4 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.7 apg, 1.0 spg).

Defensively, Eastern Washington is allowing their opponents to average 73.5 ppg on 40.5% shooting from the field. The Eagles have a rebound margin of 4.3 and a turnover margin of -1.2.

The 25th ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders had their 2-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 8-2 on the season after being defeated by the 5th ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs, 69-55, this past Saturday. Texas Tech struggled on the offensive end against Gonzaga and could not fight back after the Bulldogs took a 56-42 lead with 11:25 left in regulation. Texas Tech shot just 37.5% from the field & 31.6% from beyond the arc while allowing Gonzaga to shoot 42.9% from the field & 41.9% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Red Raiders was Kevin McCullar who had a double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, & 2 steals.

On the season, Texas Tech is averaging 78.5 ppg on 46.8% shooting from the field. The Red Raiders are averaging 7.6 three-pointers per game on 34.7% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Texas Tech has been led by Terrence Shannon Jr. (14.3 ppg, 3.2 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.0 spg), Kevin McCullar (14.3 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 2.9 apg, 1.5 spg), Bryson Williams (11.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg), & Davion Warren (11.1 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.9 apg, 1.6 spg). Terrence Shannon Jr. missed last weekend’s game against Gonzaga due to back spasms and is currently questionable for this matchup.

Defensively, Texas Tech is holding their opponents to an average of 59.9 ppg on 38.9% shooting from the field. The Red Raiders have a rebound margin of 13.0 and a turnover margin of 2.8.

The Eagles are 21-5 ATS in their last 26 road games and 44-21-1 ATS in their last 66 games overall. The Red Raiders are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 home games.

Eastern Washington comes into this game with a winning record behind an offense that is ranked 47th in scoring offense, however, this is not as talented of a team that we’ve seen in recent years and the Eagles have really struggled defensively, currently ranking just 290th in scoring defense. Texas Tech is once again led by their defense which ranks 33rd in scoring defense & 4th in rebound margin and after seeing the Red Raiders impress in games vs. Tennessee & Gonzaga, I think Texas Tech will be able to do enough in this one to cover this large home spread. Good Luck!
