The Houston Cougars and Texas Tech Red Raiders meet on Monday in college basketball action at United Supermarkets Arena. Here’s a Houston vs Texas Tech Prediction. This article will include a Houston vs Texas Tech Pick.

Houston Cougars Betting Preview

The Houston Cougars (23-4, 15-12 ATS) were on a fantastic 13-game winning run, but Texas Tech was the one to snap it with an 82-81 overtime victory in Houston. Nevertheless, the Cougars are now on a new winning streak, recording six and looking for the seventh. Will the Red Raiders be their kryptonite again? We’ll see. In this latest run, Houston beat Oklahoma State, Colorado, Baylor, Arizona, Arizona State, and Iowa State. Houston is lonely at the top of the Big 12 standings and needs one more victory to clinch the conference.

Houston averages 75.1 PPG (153rd) and allows 57.7 PPG (1st). The Cougars are 123rd in rebounds (36.8) and 281st in assists (12.9). L.J. Cryer leads the team with 15.0 PPG, 2.2 RPG, and 2.0 APG. Emanuel Sharp follows him with 12.0 PPG, 2.8 RPG, and a team-high 1.4 SPG, while J’Wan Roberts has 11.3 PPG, a team-high 6.3 RPG, and 1.0 SPG.

Texas Tech Red Raiders Betting Preview

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (21-6, 15-12 ATS) are playing very well; they won ten of the last 12 games. The Red Raiders were on a six-game winning streak, their longest this season, but that was snapped by Arizona. In the last four games, Texas Tech secured three wins against Arizona State, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia, and lost to TCU.  Texas Tech is 2nd in the Big 12 standings with three games behind Houston, and will likely finish the regular season among the top four teams in the conference.

Texas Tech is averaging 81.4 PPG (30th) and is allowing 66.5 PPG (46th). The Red Raiders are getting 36.9 RPG (119th) and dish out 17.0 APG (28th). JT Toppin is the team’s top scorer with 17.3 PPG, a team-high 9.1 RPG, and a team-high 1.2 BPG. Chance McMillian adds 15.1 PPG and 4.3 RPG, while Darrion Williams contributes 14.9 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 4.0 APG, and 1.3 SPG.

Houston vs Texas Tech Prediction

I know that Texas Tech handed the lone conference loss to Houston and lone at Houston this season, but I don’t think the Red Raiders will be the first one to beat the Cougars away from Houston. Yes, the Cougars are undefeated on the road this year, and they won four of the last five H2H encounters. It’s not a must-win game for Houston as they are pretty safe at the top, but I believe the main motivation here is revenge. Houston has hit the moneyline in its last 12 away games. Chance McMillian is dealing with an undisclosed injury and is questionable, so if is unable to take the court, Houston should get this one. Even if he plays, I am still backing the Cougars. It’s going to be a tight one, though.
