The Texas A&M Aggies and the Texas Tech Red Raiders meet Sunday in college basketball action from Dickies Arena. Here’s a Texas Tech vs Texas A&M prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Texas Tech vs Texas A&M pick.
Texas A&M Aggies Betting Preview
The Aggies lost to UCF in their opener and Oregon in game six. Otherwise it’s been a sting of wins for Texas A&M. Those have come versus East Texas A&M, Lamar, Ohio State, Southern, Creighton, Rutgers and Wake Forest.
In the Wake Forest game on Tuesday, the Aggies were up by three points at the break. Texas A&M kept it up with a 28-18 run from there for a 57-44 win. Wade Taylor topped the team on his 15 points, four rebounds and four assists.
Texas Tech Red Raiders Betting Preview
Over on the Texas Tech side, they’ve got just the one loss this year: a 78-77 outcome versus Saint Joseph’s. Aside from that it’s been wins over Bethune-Cookman, Northwestern State, Wyoming, AR-Pine Bluff, Syracuse, Northern Colorado and DePaul.
In the DePaul game on Wednesday, the Raiders were ahead by just one point going into the second half. Texas Tech hit a 38-25 stretch the rest of the way though, winning 76-62. Chance McMillian was the high man with 22 points and five boards.
Why the Texas Tech Red Raiders will win

- Texas A&M has lost five of its last six games against the Big 12 Conference at neutral venues.
- Texas A&M has lost the first half in each of its last six games against the Big 12 Conference at neutral venues.
Why the Texas A&M Aggies will win
- Texas A&M has won seven of its last eight games.
- Texas Tech has lost five of its last six games against AP-ranked opponents at a neutral venue.
- Texas A&M has won the first half in each of its last six day games against non-AP-ranked opponents at a neutral venue.
Texas Tech vs Texas A&M Prediction
I’ll try Texas Tech in this one. The Raiders played well versus a good DePaul squad in their last outing, shooting 50 percent from the field with 34 rebounds and just six turnovers. Texas Tech is scoring great this year; they’ve hit 76 or more points in all eight games so far. Needless to say however, Sunday’s game will be the toughest challenge so far for the Raiders.
As for Texas A&M, they didn’t shoot great (38.8 percent) in their win over Wake Forest, and also had 18 turnovers in a sloppy outing. It was the first time since the opener that the Aggies had failed to score at least 70 points. Texas A&M has surrendered 73 or more points in three of the last four games though, so Texas Tech should be able to post a nice total here if the Raiders play well.
